While every one is thinking about the holidays. We've been busy booking up are summer tarpon season in Carrabelle and St George island Florida. We usually start fishing tarpon around May 15 in the beautiful Florida panhandle. Are season usually runs into September or until the cooler weather starts. We mostly fish for tarpon on fly but also have much success with conventional spin fishing anglers. Or Carrabelle St. George Island Tarpon season usually books up pretty fast. But we still have a few dates available if you're looking to come have a good time.

Hi everybody I wanted to take a minute to make a short guide and teach you all about Tarpon fishing in the Florida Panhandle and fly fishing for tarpon in general.
The Tarpon ( magalops Atlanticius) Is among the most popular game fish in Florida. It’s well known for the tremendous acrobatics on the end of a line. they grow to massive size with the current IGF a world record at 286 pounds and 9 ounces. Tarpon are also called silver king or sabalo in Spanish. While they are edible people rarely eat tarpon because their flesh is filled with small hard to clean bones. Tarpon’s preferred water temperature is in the 73 to 90°F range. Making the Florida Panhandle a perfect place to fly fish for the silver king.

Are tarpon season in Apalachicola Bay and Florida Panhandle starts in early April and counties to be good through all the summer months until October. Most of my fly fishing anglers like May, June and July the best. Thought it seem that most of my light tackle tarpon fishing charters are in August and September when there is a lot of fish working the massive bait pods.

Where super excited to be heading back out to Venice Louisiana for are upcoming redfish season. The marshes of Sothern Louisana provide the perfect back drop for shallow water redfishing and is the perfect training grounds to keep your flyfishing skills on point during the cold winter months.
My clients really enjoy the days spent on the bow stalking the shallow flats and book there days almost a year in advance.
